ANNOUNCEMENTS:

We will be hosting a simulcast marriage conference on February 27th entitled “Focus on Marriage.”  The conference will feature Gary Thomas, Francis Chan, Gary Chapman, Les & Leslie Parrott and Kirk & Chelsea Cameron!  Tickets are on sale this Sunday for $20 a person.  Stop by the Connections Table for more information or email Brian Edholm [edholmb@bellsouth.net].

Many have contacted us asking if we, as the Vineyard USA community, will be responding to the earthquake in Haiti.  The following is what is currently happening. We are in conversation with some of our partners like Convoy of Hope.  They have a person on the ground in Port-Au-Prince as well as a warehouse in tact.  It is nearly impossible to get into Haiti currently.  The limited airport access is being used by the government.  Eventually, we are sure there will be a need for teams to go down but right now the need is mainly prayer and financial support to prepare for response. You can send contributions to Vineyard USA PO Box 2089 Stafford Texas 77497 and write “Mercy Response” in the memo line.  We are waiting to hear from those in the Vineyard who are currently working in Haiti.  We will be sending updates as we know more.

The Youth Group will be having their Winter Retreat on February 12th - 15th.  We are looking for four students to be sponsored, $100 for each student.  If you would be able to sponsor a student, in whole or in part, please contact Brendan and Melodie Purcell. [bpurcell@nexcenfm.com]

Is God Listening? Tour: The Southeast team of worship leaders, including our Diane Thiel, will be performing at MVC on Thursday, January 21st, sharing songs from their new album.  The concert will be free (love offering taken to help cover transportation costs).

Reminder to parents, please do not allow your children to be unattended behind the counter in the cafe.  Only the cafe team should be behind the counter.  The syrups should only be added into the drinks by the baristas!  We would love to continue not charging  Thank you!

We currently have three families we are trying to help supply food to.  I am looking for sponsors to start in February purchasing one box of Angel Food for these families on a monthly basis.  A box of Angel Food is $30 per month and contains meats, vegetables, fruit, staples and one dessert.  If you are interested in sponsoring a family, please send me an email and I will give you more details on how to send the payments to the church. - Vicki Young [svasyoung@yahoo.com]

Every Tuesday night a group goes to the Youth Detention Center in Marietta to spend time talking and praying with the teens there. Consider joining us sometime and see if this is a ministry that God is asking you to be a part of. Contact Diane Thiel for more info: [yokudi@yahoo.com]

We are in need of volunteers willing to GREET on Sunday mornings once a month. This ministry is vital to the church yet not difficult. If interested in helping, please contact Kristen Waltz. [kristen@mariettavineyard.org]

Family Worship Night will be on February 6th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.  Please contact Kelly Westberry if you are interested in assisting in any area of the arts!  [kellywestberry@att.net]

PRAYER REQUESTS:

Please continue praying for Ruth Gaines.

Christine Currier a quiet member of our church is in need of cataract surgery. We have been through the initial tests and are now with the help of her eye doctor applying for financial assistance from the Knight's Templar. Please pray that her application will be approved quickly and that after her interview she will qualify for assistance.  Also, Michael and Christine Currier's son  Damon in having ankle surgery this week to repair an injury. They ask that we would pray the surgical procedure goes well and that he heals quickly.

Pray for Rick and Ellen Coffin in India:

Please pray for us about the new visa rules.  We really need a team of leaders to be committed to the Delhi Vineyard since we will now have to leave for two months every six months unless we change our visa to a business or employment one.

We will be home May 13 through July to visit our friends and family.

Please also continue to pray for our parents in LA - Rick’s dad has Alzheimer’s and Ellen’s mom has had a touch of pneumonia recently and stays in a nursing home.  She turns 89 in February.  Blessing to you all, Rick and Ellen

*If you have any prayer requests that you would like included in the VW, please e-mail office@mariettavineyard.org by Wednesday each week.
